On Sunday evenings from 7-9pm I like to leave the Inn for a short 10 minute drive over to O’Shea’s Olde Inne in W. Dennis, for their Irish Traditional Music Seisiun ( Session). It is hosted by Sean Murphy and a variety of local or visiting musicians. This week I brought my bodhran (drum) along and was fortunate enough to squeeze in and join in on a few of the tunes. Playing Traditional music is the goal of this weekly event as well as the ever welcome singing and storytelling. O’Shea’s presents music 365 nights a year and offers a varied dinner menu to enjoy while listening. I highly recommend the Mussels and personally appreciate the usual, as well as unconventional choices at the bar.
People come specifically to either join as musicians/singers or just to appreciate the authenticity of the art form. So come and stay with us with a plan to add a visit to O’Shea’s Olde Inne for some nightly music. Don’t forget to stick the whistle in your pocket or grab your pipes and come prepared to have a great time. You might consider brushing up the lyrics to a favorite song while you’re at it.
